Crafted Together: The Global Partnerships Behind Furnz Group’s Bespoke Hospitality Interiors
For more than two decades, Furnz Group has built its reputation on a simple promise: design is just the start; we turn vision into beautifully built, operationally ready spaces.
At the heart of that promise sits something less visible, but absolutely essential: long-standing manufacturing partnerships that bring each design intention to life with precision, craft and reliability.
From boutique lodges to multi-stage resort masterplans, these partners underpin every bespoke piece of FF&E, every finish, and every joinery detail delivered to clients across New Zealand and the Pacific. Their workmanship, environmental understanding and engineering expertise remain a defining strength of Furnz Group’s design-to-delivery model.
A Partnership Built Over 20 Years
One of Furnz Group’s most significant relationships is with our Surabaya-based manufacturing partner in Indonesia. A relationship now spanning 20 years. In an industry where suppliers often change from project to project, such longevity is rare.
Environmental compatibility is one reason this partnership works so well.
“Fiji and Indonesia share a similar climate,” explains Furnz Group Director, Euan. “So the materials and finishes we specify and produce offshore are naturally better suited to survive the humidity, temperature shifts and coastal exposure our Pacific projects demand.”
This partner operates a bespoke-scale factory, large enough to deliver volume, but not a mass-production environment. With a couple of hundred highly skilled craftspeople, the factory can deliver the fine-detail work, prototyping, and finish quality that hospitality clients expect.
“It’s craft. They understand hospitality-grade durability and what five stars really mean. Everything we make together is one-off, custom, and built for purpose.”

Expert Hands Behind Every Detail
From hand-finished timber to tailored upholstery, terrazzo, lighting, and custom joinery, Furnz Group’s partners offer a unique blend of technical precision and artisanal skill.
A shared design language helps elevate that process.
The Indonesian factory’s owner — originally from Belgium — speaks five languages, eliminating translation gaps that often derail technical detailing or material specifications. “Being able to communicate nuance is a huge advantage,” Euan says. “It ensures nothing gets lost, from the inspiration image through to the final piece.”
This fluency extends to construction logic, packing strategy, installation methodology, and finish sequencing.
When clients visit the factory, they see not just production lines, but also the story behind their projects: the craftspeople shaping tabletops by hand, the controlled storage environments for raw materials, and the finishing bays where stains, textures, and grains are perfected.
These relationships also extend back to New Zealand, where local fabricators and material specialists support one-off pieces, special finishes and export-ready manufacturing for specific projects.
Whether a client needs custom-crafted hardwood joinery from a local maker or large-scale furniture production from Indonesia, Furnz Group curates the right solution for each brief.
Co-Design, Collaboration & Control
Every bespoke piece manufactured for a Furnz Group project reflects a three-way relationship between client, design team and supplier.
Depending on the project scope, Furnz may lead the detailed design or refine an external designer’s concept, but in either case, they insist on early collaboration with their manufacturing partners. This ensures buildability, budget alignment, material suitability and freight efficiency long before production begins.
It’s one thing to design a beautiful piece; it’s another to ensure it can be built to scale, packed safely, installed in a tight space, and withstand hotel-level use. Furnz Group solves all of that together, with design and manufacturing working hand in hand.
Quality Assurance That Protects Every Project
Craftsmanship is only half the story; the other half is consistency. Every item, whether a single sculptural table or 300 bedside units, must arrive in the exact condition it left the factory.
Furnz Group’s robust QA process includes:
Detailed prototyping and sign-off
Multi-stage factory checks
On-site QA upon arrival
Continuous feedback loops with manufacturers
Client involvement wherever beneficial
Case Studies in Collaboration
The strength of these partnerships is most clearly seen in Furnz Group’s long-term hospitality relationships:
Across all of them, one principle holds true: great hospitality spaces are built through great partnerships.
A Shared Standard That Shapes Every Project
The consistency of Furnz Group’s procurement partners, their craftsmanship, transparency, environmental controls, and problem-solving has become a competitive advantage. Clients trust the process because they trust the people behind it.
“At the end of the day,” says Euan, “you’re only as good as your last project. Our partners understand that. We succeed together, and we take responsibility together. That’s why these relationships last.”
As Furnz Group continues to deliver complex hospitality interiors across New Zealand and the Pacific, these global and local partners remain the quiet engine behind every beautifully built space.
